Institutional Affiliation Policy

Through a policy approved by the Board of Governors within the framework of the institute’s Internal Regulations, ISPA has set out the agreed form for recording institutional affiliation in publications and other communications outputs, which must be used by all staff affiliated with ISPA.

This policy works in parallel with ISPA’s Strategic Communications Plan, in its objective to increase ISPA’s visibility, and is based upon Article 15 of Spanish Law 14/2011 on Science, Technology and Innovation, which establishes the duty of research staff to “use the denomination of the organisations for which they provide services by performing their scientific work in accordance with the internal regulations of said organisations and the agreements, covenants or partnerships into which said organisations have entered”, including the guidelines provided in ISPA’s Corporate Identity Manual.

Section 15 of ISPA’s Internal Regulations – Confidentiality and Communications – states that the participation of all research staff that have taken part in research work performed within the ISPA framework must be recognised and recorded in publications or any other means of communicating results generated by this work, and that their affiliation with ISPA, as well as with other organisation(s), must be stated.
